Privacy Policy
1. Controller
Anne Krenzin, Balthasarstrasse 5, 50670 Köln, Germany. Email: studio@hikamaro.com
2. Hosting and server logs
This website runs on a virtual server rented from Hostinger. When you visit it, the server temporarily processes technical data that your browser sends (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and device type) to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and working website).
3. Cookies and statistics
This website counts page views anonymously on its own server: no cookie is set, no IP address is saved and no data is passed on. To tell visitors apart within a single day, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser is used; it changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. Visits are not counted if your browser sends “Do Not Track”. The counts are deleted after 90 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (interest in understanding how the site is used).
4. Google Analytics
Only if you click “Accept” in the banner, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and processes your usage data (for example pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and your IP address, which is shortened) to create statistics for me. Data can be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google signals and advertising features are switched off. Until you accept, nothing is loaded from Google. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw or change your decision at any time with “Privacy settings” in the footer; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before it. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) so that the banner does not appear again; this is technically necessary.
5. Fonts
Fonts are served from this server. Your browser makes no connection to Google or other font providers.
6. Contact form and email
If you write to me through the contact form or by email, I store your name, email address and message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once the matter is closed.
7. Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored with Hostinger Reach (Hostinger International Ltd.), the service that sends the emails. The subscription only starts after you confirm it in an email (double opt-in); the time of the signup is stored as proof. Reach may measure whether emails are opened and which links are clicked. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the end of every email; this withdraws your consent for the future.
8. YouTube videos
Episode pages show a cover picture with a play button. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click it. Only when you press play, the video is loaded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). From that moment your browser connects to YouTube's servers: YouTube receives your IP address, the page you came from and technical data about your device and browser, and may store information in your browser (cookies or local storage) once the video plays. If you are signed in to a Google account, YouTube can link the viewing to your account. Data can be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: your consent, given by pressing play, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. If you do not want this, do not start the video here and watch it on YouTube instead. Links to my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@Hikamaro-Studio) and to single videos are plain links. Data is only passed to YouTube when you follow them.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
