Rainy nights above the cities of the world.

Kaya travels with her sleepy cat Mikan. In every city she finds a small listening room high above the streets – records on the shelf, rain on the window, the city's landmark glowing in the distance. Every city gets its own room: the chair, the lamp and a few objects change, the view, the rain and the two of them stay. The journey begins in Tokyo.

Rules

One room per city: Same layout everywhere, but the chair, the lamp and a few objects belong to the city.
Rain outside, warmth inside: The city lights the room in cool blue; one warm lamp lights Kaya and Mikan.
Stillness: Kaya rests, Mikan sleeps. Only rain, breathing and spinning reels move.
The two of them: Nobody else in the picture, not even far below in the streets.
The landmark: Always large and in the centre of the window.
No shoes indoors: At home everyone takes their shoes off, so does Kaya. In every city she wears different colorful socks.

Blue-black hair in a loose bun with an orange hair tie, jade earrings, freckles, and always the same worn leather backpack. Her clothes change with the weather – a cream hoodie for cool cities, an orange shirt and grey cargo pants for the tropics. Indoors her shoes stay at the door: in every city she wears a different pair of colorful socks. Her face never does.
